Admitted Transfer Next Steps Checklist

Next steps for admitted Spring 2024 transfers

To accept the offer, submit your $400 enrollment deposit through your Applicant Portal by December 1, 2023.

All enrolling students are required to provide an unofficial academic update and subsequently send official documents via the two-part process and by the applicable deadlines outlined below:

SRAR Group: Enrolling students required to complete the Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) for admissions review are also required to return to their Applicant Portal to update and resubmit the SRAR with any curricular changes and final academic outcomes through Fall 2023 noted. Most students will simply need to unlock the SRAR, update reported in-progress grades for Fall 2023, and fully resubmit*.The SRAR update must be submitted by January 3, 2024.

Unofficial Transcript Group: Enrolling students who did not submit the SRAR as part of their application requirements should provide an updated unofficial transcript from their current institution, which must include final academic outcomes through Fall 2023*. Unofficial transcripts can be emailed as an attachment to admissions@vt.edu. The Unofficial transcript update must be received by January 3, 2024.

*Enrolling students without documented in-progress coursework must also complete the above requirement for their respective group by unlocking and fully resubmitting the SRAR or providing an updated unofficial transcript. This action confirms no new grades or curricular changes should be expected on forthcoming official transcripts or other official documents, which may arrive after the semester begins.

All Students: In addition to the above, all enrolling students must provide a final, official transcript from each college or university attended, including for any dual enrollment work. You must also send AP/IB/CLEP or other official score reports for credit noted in your submitted Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR) or otherwise provided for admissions review. All official transcripts and score reports with final outcomes through the Fall 2023 term must be received by February 1, 2024.

Providing a high school transcript is optional at this point but is strongly recommended, especially if you have world language credit as this can apply towards certain graduation requirements.

Send transcripts and score reports via electronic delivery or physical mail to:

Check back later

Next steps for transfers admitted to Summer/Fall 2024 will be published prior to the release of admissions decisions for that term.

To accept the offer, submit your $400 enrollment deposit through your Applicant Portal by May 15, 2022 for Summer entry and June 1, 2022 for Fall entry.

Finding things you need to be a part of the community is a lot easier with OneCampus. See onecampus.vt.edu for forms, portal entries, and more.

Once your payment is processed and you have officially accepted your offer, you will receive an email with instructions on how to create your VT username followed by @vt.edu and this can be accessed through Gmail by entering the full email address. Please note that this can take 48-72 hours after your payment is received through your Applicant Portal.

As soon as you accept your offer of admission you should begin the process of sending official college transcripts and documents. Please send a final official transcript from any college or university attended, including for dual enrollment work.

If you are still completing coursework at a college or university, please send an official transcript from this school as soon as you accept the offer and a second transcript once your in-progress work has been completed with final grades. This will help speed up the official evaluation of your transfer credits. You should also send AP/CLEP or other score reports for credit noted in your submitted Self-Reported Academic Record (SRAR).

You are also required to update and resubmit the SRAR with your final course and grade information. The SRAR must be updated and resubmitted and ALL transcripts/score reports with grades through Spring 2022 should be received by June 15, 2022. If you will be completing additional coursework in the summer, you must send one final transcript, in addition to those in the above requirements, as soon as these grades are available, but this does not need to be received by June 15th.

Sending a high school transcript is optional at this point but can be a good idea, especially if you have foreign language credit as this can apply towards certain graduation requirements.
