Virginia Tech Advantage: Scholarships & Support for Students
What is Virginia Tech Advantage?
Virginia Tech Advantage is a university-wide, multi-year commitment to expand access, reduce barriers, and support student success for all students.
Grounded in the university’s land-grant mission and motto, Ut Prosim (That I May Serve), the initiative strengthens the full student experience –from meeting basic needs to enabling internships, research, and study abroad – so that more students can participate fully and graduate on time.
Virginia Tech Advantage also includes a significant investment in scholarships for Virginia undergraduates with financial need, helping reduce unmet costs and broaden access to the full student experience.
Why it matters
A Virginia Tech education is defined not only by the classroom, but by the experiences that shape students’ futures – especially research, internships, and global learning.
Virginia Tech Advantage supports those opportunities, along with essential needs such as food and emergency funding. Expanding access to these resources strengthens student success, well-being, and career readiness across the university.
