Scholarship support from Virginia Tech Advantage

Virginia Tech Advantage provides additional scholarships and financial aid so that in-state undergraduates have the time to expand their learning opportunities, build confidence, and prepare for life after graduation.

To be considered for scholarships and financial aid:   

• Prospective students will fill out the Common App, the FAFSA, and the university’s General Scholarship Application. Visit the University Scholarships and Financial Aid website to learn more.  

• Current students will apply directly through Scholarship Central and complete the FAFSA annually. Learn more on the University Scholarships and Financial Aid website.

Out-of-state students can follow the same steps to become eligible for scholarships and financial aid. 

Behind the scenes, we’ll keep working to offer more financial resources to in-state undergraduates. One goal of Virginia Tech Advantage is to double the size of the Presidential Scholarship Initiative. The competitive, renewable, four-year scholarship for in-state students offers a comprehensive academic and social support community. 

In FY25 we continued reducing the average total costs for Virginia Tech Advantage students, and we surpassed our annual fundraising goal for the initiative — with most of the money going to scholarships.
