Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Statement for Publications

Federal laws and regulations require the university to include equal opportunity (non-discrimination) and reasonable accommodation statements on materials made available to students, applicants, employees, program participants, and the public. Publications should include one of the following versions of the equal opportunity statement. When inviting participation at an event or activity, a reasonable accommodation statement is also required. Print and digital publications that must include a version of the statement include unit/college and university-wide catalogs, handbooks, applications, magazines, newsletters, brochures, posters, and job announcements. Additionally, all electronic job ads must include a link to the position announcement on the Virginia Tech website, which contains instructions for requesting disability accommodations.
