On June 21, Virginia Tech Innovation Campus staff and administrators got a first look at the Campus' 11th floor, the highest of its first academic building.
To kick off the tour, Dr. Lance Collins, vice president and executive director, honored the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company's senior project manager, Summer Cleary, with an engraved plaque. Cleary is a Hokie alumna and plays an integral role in the ongoing construction of Academic Building One.
The Innovation Campus team excitedly explored the building’s top floor, admired the views, and took photos and videos. Then the Campus' chief of staff, David Baker, provided the group with a comprehensive tour of the building - from the administrative offices on the 10th floor to the K-12 Initiatives space on the second, and the immersive visualization lab on the first.
In addition to stellar views of D.C., Reagan National Airport, and Northern Virginia, the 11th floor will feature executive offices and a large boardroom.
