11 Floors | 300,000 Square Feet
The 300,000-square-foot, southern anchor of the National Landing Development provides a once-in-a-generation opportunity for prominent naming of the first building of Virginia Tech’s Innovation Campus. This showcase building, designed by SmithGroup, is a primary element of Virginia’s statewide investment in technology education that helped lure Amazon’s new headquarters to the commonwealth.
1st floor | 4,313 Square Feet
The two-story entry to the Innovation Campus’ initial building is defined by natural light, high ceilings, compelling architecture, and constant foot traffic. All faculty, students, industry partners, government leaders, and community stakeholders will pass through this inspiring space, providing unique visibility to this most prominent interior portion of the building.
1st floor | 2,300 Square Feet
The primary interior greeting space of Innovation Campus Building One will be utilized by all first-time entrants, including prospective students, potential industry partners, and faculty recruits. This high-visibility area features digital displays, rotating art, and project exhibitions. The Visitor's Center will be noticed, and remembered, by all who engage with programs within the Innovation Campus.
8th Floor | 3,000 Exterior Square Feet
An unforgettable space with breathtaking views of D.C. landmarks, the Potomac River, and Reagan National Airport, the Roof Terrace will regularly host events that bring together academic and industry leaders, national and state officials, and other high-profile groups.
3rd and 4th Floor | 2,000 Square Feet
This completely enclosed, double-height space on the third floor of Building One will be a hub of experimentation and innovation in unmanned aerial systems technology, and the largest facility of its kind in such close proximity to D.C., the Pentagon, and a major airport.
1st and 2nd Floor |
A center of activity, this space dominates the street view into the building in a uniquely inspiring and visible fashion. Both floors of the Learning Loft provide much needed space for students, faculty, and partners to connect and collaborate, day or night. The high-traffic Learning Loft is the central location for delivery of our project-based curriculum.

Centers of collaboration for student teams, faculty work groups, and industry-higher education partners, high-use conference rooms are available to name throughout Innovation Campus Building One.
