It takes a visionary leader to collaborate with the Virginia Tech president to reshape the environment for technological research and graduate education in the nation’s next tech hub. The Innovation Campus vice president and executive director is that leader.

The game-changing discoveries to come from the Innovation Campus will be sparked by leading experts in fields that are transforming the world. While building research teams and integrating graduate students into the process of discovery, founding chairs also provide valuable insights to policymakers, tech companies, and fellow academics.

Virginia Tech is committed to putting research into action to improve lives. That’s impossible without collaboration with leaders in industry, government, and the nonprofit sector who are on the front lines of today’s defining issues. Professors of practice bring their unique knowledge, experience, and connections to the Innovation Campus’ classrooms and research facilities.

Scholarships enable talented students to pursue their dreams. They deepen the pool of talent taking on today’s toughest problems. And they are never forgotten by their recipients. Scholarships are a human investment, a show of faith in the future, and a crucial resource for universities that strive to bring tomorrow’s leaders together, today.

Innovation. Technological translation. Entrepreneurship. Diversity. And perspective on what’s next. None of these themes fit neatly into a traditional degree program. But all of them are in the minds of visionary individuals and companies. Supporting an interdisciplinary programming funds at the Innovation Campus helps round out the process of learning and discovery that is essential to make meaningful change.
