Sara Hooshangi

Sara Hooshangi is a collegiate associate professor and founding director of the Master of Engineering Program (M.Eng) in the Department of Computer Science. Her research interests include computer science digital education, broadening participation in computer science, and data visualization. Previously, Hooshangi was an associate professor and the founding director of the Integrated Information, Science and Technology (IIST) Program at George Washington University. She has taught courses in data visualization, programming in Python, database design, and data analytics. Through her research, Hooshangi has explored engineering and undergraduate education methods in the context of improving learning outcomes for non-traditional students and increasing diversity in STEM fields.
