For Faculty, Staff, and their Families

On campus:

  • For confidential access to telephone counseling or referral to a local counselor for private visits, faculty and staff can contact ValueOptions at 1-866-725-0602 anytime, 24 hours a day.
  • Employees may set up appointments to see a counselor privately in Blacksburg by calling 1-866-725-0602
    • You may also contact Employee Relations at 540/231-7772 for assistance or with any questions.
  • Departmental and group meeting support remains available, and may be set up by contacting Employee Relations at 540/231-7772.

Off campus:

  • ValueOptions, our Employee Assistance Program provider may be accessed by faculty and staff from any location at any time by calling 1-866-725-0602

Virginia Tech employees not insured through VT health insurance, including salaried and wage employees, have access to EAP counseling services if initiated by May 31.

  • To access counseling services, call 1-866-725-0602 (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) on or before May 31, 2007.
  • You will be referred to a local counselor for an appointment.
  • If an initial call is made on or before May 31, employees will have six months to use their referred EAP counseling sessions.
