Traditional to cutting edge, the arts at Virginia Tech are valued disciplines of study, an ever-growing presence through events and performances, and a creative energy shared in myriad ways across the university.

Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech

Opening in 2013, the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech will include:

  • A 1,260-seat performance theatre, 
  • Visual arts galleries, and
  • The Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology (ICAT), a laboratory for innovation and creativity, where faculty and students in coordination with partners from Virginia’s school systems can research, develop, and apply modules for learning in a collaborative, trans-disciplinary setting.

Collaborative project provides new perspective of Center for the Arts

    A rendering of the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech, taken from the fly through animation.

With help from two of his students, Associate Professor Dane Webster used models and single-frame renderings from architecture firms Snohetta and STV to create a virtual fly through of the new Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech.
