New Residence Hall East, part of the Drillfield Community, is home to 220 co-ed upper-class and transfer students. It is a suite-style hall with a fitness room on the first floor.
Its adjacent partner hall, New Residence Hall West, was named for Irving Peddrew and Charlie Yates in 2002 and dedicated in 2003. The Commemorative Tributes Committee is charged with the naming of all university buildings. All proposals must be approved by the board of visitors. At this time, no formal proposals have been brought forward to name New Residence Hall East after a person or persons.
Four floors; 63,195 square feet.
Construction started in 1997 and the building opened in fall 1998.
